00.ABSTRACT
RING_ZERO implements a unified spatial computing ecosystem based on a "Split-Compute Topology." Unlike heavy, standalone headsets that suffer from poor battery life and thermal issues, our system leverages the user's existing smartphone as the primary compute node.
The ecosystem consists of two proprietary hardware peripherals:
1. 0xLENS: A lightweight visual client that receives the Companion experience from a compatible phone over a direct Wi-Fi link or wired USB-C display connection.
2. 0xRING: A fingerprint-enabled, secure-element hardware wallet and discreet haptic input controller.

0xLENS solves the "Face-Weight Tradeoff" by keeping primary compute on a compatible iPhone or Android phone. RING_ZERO Companion manages the connection, rendering, and supported phone-side features while the glasses remain a lightweight visual client.
- Visual Client: Two microdisplays, local sensors, audio, controls, and power management remain on the glasses while the phone stays the primary compute host.
- Connection Modes: Wireless use relies on a direct Wi-Fi link; a full-featured USB-C cable uses DisplayPort Alt Mode for video, USB control, and USB Power Delivery where the phone supports those features.
- Heads-Up Navigation: Directions overlaid on the street, computed by your phone's GPS and streamed to the lens.
- Instant Context: Identifying architecture and translating languages using the phone's Neural Engine.

The 0xLENS client combines display output, an inertial measurement unit, ambient-light adaptation, near-ear audio, and a direct phone link. 0xRING supplies the primary discreet control path through capacitive input and local haptic confirmation.

03.0xRING: INTERACTION & SECURITY
0xRING is primarily a self-custody hardware wallet and also serves as the discreet input controller for 0xLENS. Its side-mounted secure thumb interface supports subtle swipes, taps, and holds without requiring raised-arm gestures.
- Haptic Control: Navigate menus and click with subtle swipes, taps, and holds on the capacitive outer surface.
- Secure Element: Private keys are created and used inside an NXP SE050 secure element; they never travel over Bluetooth.
- Hardware-Level Isolation: Wallet authentication, policy, confirmation, signing, and private-key operations remain exclusive to a hardware-protected domain. Bluetooth, haptic, and spatial-control functions operate through a dedicated controller domain.
- Layered Authorization: The wallet remains locked by default. A thumb-accessible fingerprint sensor or ring-verified access code unlocks signing, and each transaction requires deliberate confirmation on the ring.
- Enrollment & Reset: Fingerprints are enrolled only during docked setup. The ring access code remains available if fingerprint matching is unavailable; a fingerprint is never a recovery credential.
- Owner Recovery: A user-controlled 24-word phrase is displayed during docked setup and is never stored by RING_ZERO Companion or RING_ZERO services.

BLOCKCHAIN SECURE ELEMENT
The 0xRING combines secure-element key isolation, a thumb-accessible fingerprint sensor, a ring-verified access code, and deliberate confirmation for everyday self-custody.
Bluetooth carries transaction requests and signed responses; private keys remain within the secure element.
The protected wallet domain owns the secure thumb interface. Navigation mode delivers refined gesture commands to the dedicated controller domain, while fingerprint matching and wallet confirmation remain protected at the hardware level.
EXAMPLE USE CASE (POST-LAUNCH):
A wearer uses subtle 0xRING gestures to navigate the RING_ZERO Companion workspace through 0xLENS. The ring provides local haptic confirmation while the phone remains the compute host and transaction-review surface for routine wallet actions.
04.RING_ZERO COMPANION & DEVICE SOFTWARE
RING_ZERO Companion is the Android and iPhone application at the center of the system. It manages supported phone-side rendering, device pairing, wallet review, and the phone-to-glasses connection through supported platform APIs.
SPLIT-COMPUTE CONNECTION MODEL
The phone remains the primary compute host. Wireless mode uses a direct Wi-Fi link to 0xLENS; wired mode uses a full-featured USB-C cable for DisplayPort Alt Mode video, USB control, and USB Power Delivery where supported by the phone.
- Host Node (Phone): Runs RING_ZERO Companion, rendering, device pairing, and supported on-device features.
- Client Node (0xLENS): Drives the microdisplays and manages local sensors, audio, controls, and power.
- Hardware-Isolated Wallet & Controller Node (0xRING): A protected wallet domain owns authentication, signing policy, confirmation, and secure-element access. A dedicated controller domain manages Bluetooth LE, haptics, and refined spatial-control commands.

0xLENS supports three power paths while preserving the same phone-first compute model:
- Frame Pack: Two balanced 500 mAh cells provide short untethered sessions.
- 0xLINK Neckstrap: Optional 2,000 mAh and 3,500 mAh packs extend wireless use.
- Wired Phone Link: A compatible USB-C Power Delivery connection can supply the glasses while carrying the direct display link.
4.2 // Wallet Security & Transaction Policy
0xRING separates convenient everyday signing from high-assurance approval. The owner configures the transaction policy only while the ring is docked; the protected policy is enforced by the ring rather than by the Companion app alone.
The wallet and controller share one enclosure and thumb surface while operating across distinct hardware security boundaries. Connected devices prepare transaction requests through an isolated interface. The protected wallet domain independently controls fingerprint matching, access-code validation, transaction policy, and the confirmation event bound to each pending transaction before the secure element produces a signature.
- Routine Transfers: A configured per-asset threshold permits low-value transfers after fresh Companion authentication, local fingerprint verification or the ring access code, and deliberate ring confirmation.
- Session Limits: Rolling session and daily limits prevent multiple routine transfers from being used to bypass the owner's configured high-assurance threshold.
- Dock-Required Approval: Transfers above the owner's threshold require the docked ring, a ring-verified access code, trusted dock-display review, and physical confirmation.
- Always High-Assurance: Smart-contract approvals, delegation or authority changes, recovery-policy changes, device pairing, and unknown transaction types always require the docked approval path.
- Clear Review: The dock display presents the asset, amount, recipient, network, fee, and transaction type before approval; the ring does not sign a transaction the owner has not deliberately confirmed.
